Eligibility Requirements for Dogs

Operation PETS is an income qualified clinic. You must meet one of the following eligibility requirements to use our services.

1) Pet owner must have a New York State Benefit Card from the Department of Social Services for temporary assistance, Food Stamps or Medicaid (see requirements below).

2) Dogs adopted from an approved rescue & adoption organization or shelter are eligible to use our clinic (see requirements below).

3) Pit Bull/Pit Bull mixes may also qualify for our Project Pit Bull program.

For your pet's protection we recommend dogs have their first DA2PPV (parvovirus-distemper) vaccine prior to coming to the clinic (vaccine takes up to two weeks to take effect).

A $45.00 deposit is required before we can make an appointment and hold a surgical slot for your dog.

We do not require deposits from pet owners with dogs adopted from an approved rescue groups/shelters if the spay/neuter surgery was included in the adoption fee (we bill the rescue group/shelter for payment). If the spay/neuter surgery was not included in the adoption fee you must make a deposit and are responsible for payment.

You can make your deposit over the phone via credit/debit card, by sending us a money order, or by coming into our clinic Monday-Thursday 10am-4pm.

You will only owe the balance on the day of your appointment. If you cancel or re-schedule your deposit is refundable as long as you give us at least 24 hours notice.
